Dear fellow Democrats: How Ohio State losing to Michigan gave me hope.
The Trumpublican juggernaut really seems to have our backs against the wall. They are ruthless, heartless and totally unempathetic liars that are seemingly tearing our country apart with lawyeresque manipulation of the law.
Their intent is never the heart of the law, but the letter of it. For instance: The destruction of anything DEI.
The DEI was meant to stop the very thing that is happening under the Trumpublican regime: Incompetent white loyalist replacing people of color, sexual nature, etc that are way better suited for the jobs then the people are being replaced by.
As we now know, Ohio State football in - a grand fashion - won the college championship.
The reframe from their arch-rivals was, so what? They couldn't beat us.
And to a point they have a point. Michigan, it can be argued got into Ohio State's head. You're not as tuff as us. You can't out tuff us. And that became the focal point of the game.
Ohio State, again, arguably, didn't play their game- they attempted to outplay Michigan at their Michigan's own game.
Things looked bleak after that lost. But to Ohio State's credit, they realized their mistake. Ohio State had to play Ohio State ball. And, oh how they did. One of the absolute best championship runs EVER.
My point. We will never out Trumpublican the Trumpublicans.
Christ said it best: Don't return evil with evil.
Trumpublicans through their media and their champions are taught to hate those that are not like them. Literally hate.
We can't do that.
We must love.
50% of our country hates us because they are told to time and time and time again that they must.
We must love them 70 times 7 times.
They are our brothers and sisters. And in America it is your right to vote for whomever you want .
So they've voted for Trump and support Elon and the damage they are doing.
They also like the sports teams we do. Love their families and communities like we do. Hate their jobs like we do. LOVE AMERICA LIKE WE DO. They drive to work like we do. Go to church like we do. Laugh like we do. Wonder where the money is going to come from like we do.
They are our neighbors. Our co-workers. Our fellow Americans.
These are the important things. The intangibles. They are not our enemies. They are our brothers and sisters, family and friends.
We must fight for this. I know...I know... it seems that they are so indoctrinated that it is beyond hope.
Perhaps it is. But as it has been famously said before: I believe in these things not because they are necessarily true, but because I want them to be true.
Let's not give up nor back down, but continue to fight for the American dream.
And remember, when all seems dark, like Ohio State proved: With God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
